Cancun Family Vacation 2022: Traveling With 12 People, Kids & Adventures
Wes Iseli's MagicLife Podcast | Season 3, Episode 10
What happens when you take a group of 12 people on vacation to Cancun, Mexico? You end up with plenty of stories to tell!
In this episode of Wes Iseli's MagicLife Podcast, my wife Natalie and I sit down to talk about our 2022 Cancun vacation, traveling with a large group, vacationing with young children, and some of the adventures we experienced along the way.
While our podcast often features interviews with magicians, entertainers, and fascinating people from all walks of life, we also enjoy sharing stories from our own lives.
And when you're raising a family while working in show business, there's usually no shortage of interesting experiences!
Traveling to Cancun With a Group of 12
Traveling can be an adventure all by itself, but organizing a vacation for 12 people adds another dimension to the experience.
Between coordinating everyone's schedules, making travel arrangements, and figuring out what everyone wants to do, a large-group vacation involves plenty of planning.
During this episode, Natalie and I discuss what it was like traveling with our group and share some of the experiences that made the trip memorable.
One of the interesting things about traveling with a large group is that everyone experiences the vacation a little differently.
What might be relaxing for one person could be an adventure for someone else!
That's part of what makes sharing vacation stories afterward so entertaining.
Taking Young Children on Vacation
Another big part of our conversation revolves around traveling with our boys, Lex and Julian.
Anyone who has traveled with young children knows that family vacations can be very different from traveling as a couple.
There's more to pack, more to organize, and plenty of unexpected moments along the way.
In this episode, we talk about how the boys handled the vacation and what the experience was like for our family.
Traveling with children can certainly require extra preparation, but it also gives families opportunities to create memories together.
And sometimes the moments you don't plan become the stories you remember the most.
Natalie's Experience During the Trip
Natalie also shares her perspective on the vacation, including how she was doing following her previous experiences with blood clots.
Traveling after a serious health experience can bring additional considerations, making her perspective an important part of our conversation.
We discuss how she handled the trip and what the experience was like for her.
Her story adds a personal dimension to the episode beyond the usual vacation highlights.
Exploring Cancun and Enjoying Excursions
Cancun is known for its beaches, tropical scenery, and wide variety of activities.
For visitors, there are opportunities to relax, explore the surrounding area, and experience a different environment from everyday life.
During our podcast, we discuss some of the excursions and activities from our vacation.
Rather than simply showing vacation photographs, we wanted to share the experience through conversation, including the moments that stood out to us.
That's one of the things I enjoy about podcasting. It gives us an opportunity to sit down, talk, and share stories in a way that feels much like a conversation with friends.
Life Beyond the Magic Shows
For those who are new to our podcast, I've been a full-time professional magician and illusionist since 1996.
My wife Natalie and I spend much of our time traveling and performing magic shows, illusions, and family entertainment.
Over the years, we've performed at theaters, resorts, schools, festivals, corporate events, and countless other venues.
Our professional lives involve a great deal of traveling, but family vacations give us an opportunity to experience something different from our usual performance schedule.
That's one reason we enjoy occasionally sharing these personal episodes.
They offer a look at the family behind the magic shows.
